The Legacy of Honor Hot Lake Springs Honor Garden
Near La Grande and Union stands a most unique display. Possibly the most unique of its kind. This garden is to honor everyone.
Consisting of 13 bronze eagle heads atop 13 pedestals with three flags, benches, plants, and water features.
The historic significance of 13 is obvious. Each will also represent a branch of service to include: military, ministries,
educators, physicians, law enforcement, firefighters, the American laborers, and virtually everyone who makes up this incredible
land which we call THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.
The large area on the hillside behind Hot Lake Springs will display three 10' x 20' flags waving 100 feet from the highway level.
They will be a US flag, Oregon flag, and a white dove flag representing the "Valley of Peace." The largest valley completely
surrounded by mountains perhaps in the world.
The meditation garden will be very natural in
landscape with slight water features and a sidewalk. Also included will be a wall featuring large military bronze medallions.
Unlike other displays of its kind, this site is to include the living.
One can purchase a name plaque for themselves or give the gift of a legacy to a loved one at Hot Lake Springs for the cost of
$110.00. This charge will cover a portion of the cost of the display. For more information, visit Hot Lake Springs or call
541-963-4685.
Other displays on the hill include a horse-drawn vehicle, an antique fire truck museum, as well as a small amphitheater.
